Healthy Recipes: Cauliflower Variation

You can make wonderful and healthy side dishes from cauliflower. Cauliflower is not only very healthy, but also wonderfully versatile in the kitchen. Today we will show you two variations – the preparation of cauliflower steaks and cauliflower wings. All you need is one fresh cauliflower and a few other ingredients.

Did you know that cauliflower contains hardly any carbohydrates, no fat, but a lot of important vitamins, such as folic acid and potassium? Moreover, this healthy vegetable is a very good source of fiber and keeps your digestive system healthy.

Since cauliflower has a mild taste of its own, it harmonizes with numerous other foods and can be easily combined in dishes. Whether it’s cauliflower soup, curry, puree or casserole, let your imagination run wild when cooking cauliflower! Ingredients for for the Cauliflower Steak and Cauliflower Wings

  • 1 fresh cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons corn panko flour
  • some canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. paprika powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • some herb salt

Preparation of the Cauliflower Steak and Cauliflower Wings

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees convection. Wash the cauliflower and remove the green leaves, but not the stalk.

Step 2
Cut the cauliflower into slices about 1 cm thick. Collect the cauliflower florets that come loose in a bowl.

Step 3
Boil the cauliflower slices in water for about 3-4 minutes. Take the slices out of the water and let them drain a little.

Step 4
In the meantime, you can prepare the cauliflower wings. Put some canola oil in a bowl and stir in the paprika powder, cumin and some herb salt well. Then marinate the cauliflower florets in it and spread them on a baking sheet. The cauliflower wings should be baked in the oven for about 20 minutes.

Step 5
While your cauliflower wings are baking in the oven, you can prepare the cauliflower steaks. Whisk an egg in a deep dish. Put the corn panko flour in a second deep dish. Turn the cooled cauliflower slices first in the egg and then in the corn panko flour.

Step 6
Add 1 tablespoon coconut oil to a skillet and fry the cauliflower steaks until golden brown on both sides.

Step 7
You can serve the cauliflower steak and cauliflower wings with a vegan yogurt dip and serve with brown rice and tofu.
